PUBLIC ADVISORY - PLEASE STORE WATER AS BACK-UP RESERVE - 12.11.19
The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) urges members of the public and its valued customers around the country to store sufficient amounts of water to sustain them in case of an unplanned water disruption during adverse weather conditions and periods of heavy rain.
As Fiji enters into the cyclone season, we must anticipate tropical disturbances and cyclones along with winds and heavy rains, which causes flash flooding to waterways and rivers which WAF heavily relies on as sources of raw water before the water treatment process.
Therefore, it is imperative for customers to take heed of this public advisory as a precautionary measure and store up their fair share of water supply as a back-up reserve.
Invest in a water tank or make use of empty drums or vessels to store water and ensure that it is clean and safe for your household use and consumption.
We will not know the value of water only until when it runs out.
